Updated 2014 NFL Draft Big Board

With the NFL Combine officially in the books, several of my top prospects are on the move in my latest 2014 Draft Big Board. Some impressive showings in Indianapolis shot some players up my rankings, while a disappointing showing caused some to fall, and one to even tumble off my list entirely. Which players might those be? Read on to find out!

Here it is, my updated Big Board following the NFL Scouting Combine! Before each name will be how far that player has moved since my first big board before the scouting combine. Players with a (--) before their name have not moved since my last edition.

(--) 1. Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina - DE
(--) 2. Greg Robinson, Auburn - OT
(--) 3. Jake Matthews, Texas A&M - OT
(--) 4. Blake Bortles, UCF - QB

(+1) 6. Khalil Mack, Buffalo - LB
(-1) 7. Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville - QB
(--) 8. C.J. Mosley, Alabama - LB
(+6) 9. Taylor Lewan, Michigan - OT
(+3) 10. Mike Evans, Texas A&M - WR

(+1) 18. Darqueze Dennard, Michigan State - CB
(-3) 19. Kony Ealy, Missouri - DE
(--) 20. Odell Beckham Jr., LSU - WR

Honorable Mentions:
Louis Nix III, Notre Dame - DT
Rashede Hageman, Minnesota - DT
Jace Amaro, Texas Tech - TE
Timmy Jernigan, FSU - DT
NEW: Ryan Shaizer, Ohio State - LB

Biggest Riser - Aaron Donald
Donald had a great showing in Indianapolis, and for that he rocketed up my rankings. Donald showed off better than expected athleticism, and teams are now drooling at his potential to be a pass rushing defensive tackle. Taylor Lewan also took a major leap up, as he was much more athletic than previously given credit for, and he seems very deserving of his top 10 placement.

Biggest Fall - Anthony Barr
Barr did not necessarily have a bad showing at the Combiine, but he certainly didn't wow in his workout, which is what was expected for a player with his perceived upside. Barr was always going to be a project, but the reward of that project no longer seems like it could surpass what several other players could do for a team right away.

Off the list - Cyrus Kouandjio
Kouandjio received a failing grade from several teams on his medical report, which could cause his draft stock to sharply decline in the coming weeks. While I do not have the report myself and am completely unqualified to give a medical opinion regardless, a failing grade is a major red flag when it comes to Kouandjio's NFL future and there are other players near his talent level without the same issue.

Throughout the draft season, I hope to periodically keep updating this big board as more information comes out about these prospects, so keep coming back to Showing Some Horns for future updates!

Next, I will unveil my first mock draft for 2014, trying to fit needs and values to improve every NFL franchise before next season.
