Another Vikings Re-signing: Larry Dean

The Vikings re-signed their third in-house free agent before the official opening of free agency Monday morning, as the team announced special teams standout Larry Dean is returning to the team.

The 25 year old linebacker is the team's second linebacker addition in the past two days.

Dean offers almost no defensive value to the Vikings, but he is one of their best special teams players. Dean has appeared in 48 consecutive games for the team, and had a career high 18 special teams tackles in 2013, the 2nd most on the Vikings according to the team.

Dean received a two year deal from the Vikings according to Master Tesfatsion. Other terms of the deal were not immediately available, but Dean will definitely not break the bank for the Vikings.

As a key special teams contributor though, Dean has earned himself a raise after going undrafted and sticking with the team in 2011.

With the signings of Dean and Jasper Brinkley, the Vikings have gone from having only four linebackers under contract to having six.

Expect more Vikings action throughout the week, as free agency officially opens tomorrow at 3 p.m. CT.
