The Vikings only have three players that can be considered exclusively special teams players, and they have one of the best groups in the business. They are very dependable and consistent, and there should be no major changes going into 2014.
Here's the Vikings special teams breakdown going into the offseason:
On the Roster: Blair Walsh, Jeff Locke, Cullen Loeffler
Blair Walsh wasn't quite as exciting as he was in his first year in the league, but he still put together a very solid year as the Vikings kicker. He dealt with some injuries throughout the season, but hopefully those will be put in the past and he can continue to be one of the most reliable kickers in the league.
Jeff Locke was the Vikings rookie punter last season. Like any rookie, he went through some growing pains, but he seemed to get more consistent as the year went on. He finished the year as about a league average punter, and hopefully he can improve a little bit in year two. Either way, the Vikings punting situation isn't likely to keep them up at night.
Cullen Loeffler has been the Vikings placeholder for almost ten years now, and the Vikings don't seem to be willing to part with him any time soon. Loeffler's role is small, but he is consistently good at his job. When was the last time you saw a botched snap on a field goal attempt for the Vikings? Exactly.
Free Agents: None
What should Rick do? (WSRD?):
With two young players and a reliable veteran, there's nothing to see here. Next!
