Three Vikings agree to Pay Cuts

The Vikings will add a little room under the cap, as it was announced that two of the players on their roster have agreed to pay cuts, according multiple sources.

Jamarcus Sanford, Jerome Felton and Chad Greenway both took a little less to stay with the team, but it ensures them a spot on the roster in 2014.

Sanford shaved $750,000 off the top of the two-year deal he signed with the Vikings last year, but it was reported that he will be able to earn it back in incentives.

Felton had his pay reduced in 2014 by $500,000 from $2 million to $1.5 million. Felton signed a three-year contract extension with the team last year, and now he has an option to void the final year in his deal. Felton missed three games last year due to a suspension, so his cut isn't totally a surprise.

Greenway reduced his base salary in 2014 from $6.4 million to $5.4,k and it looks like the team approached him about a restructure after he had one of the worst years of his career in 2013. The3 move does benefit Greenway though, because now his 2014 base salary is fully guaranteed.

With the extra money coming back to the team, the Vikings should have approximately $17 million left, not including Jerome Simpson's new deal, to play with for free agency, the draft, and extending their own players.
